DOROTHY J. NONAMAKER

Dorothy “Dotti” Jean Nonamaker, 76, of Manhattan, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at the Meadowlark Hills Retire ment Community in Manhattan. The family provided some of the following information.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1940, in Smith Center. She was the daughter of Harold and Marjorie (Dean) Nonamaker. She grew up in Manhattan and graduated from Manhattan High School with theclass of 1958. Dotti worked in food service for Kansas State University for more than 30 years. She was an avid K-State fan and had season tickets to the basketball games for many years. She enjoyed collecting anything related to cats, especially Siamese. Her home was full of cat figurines and she had a large collection of cat books. Dorothy also enjoyed traveling. She especially enjoyed her trip to Australia to visit her sister Elisabethand her family. She lived in the family home on Bertrand Street until she moved to Meadowlark Hills Retirement Communityin October of 2005. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Elisabeth Vanderlip (Richard) of Manhattan; her nieces, Cindy Griffin (Wayne), Becky Smith (Roger) and Debbie Hemmen(Dan). Funeral ervices for Ms. Nonamaker will be at 10:30a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at the Yorgensen-Meloan- Londeen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan. Lunch will be served at College Avenue United Methodist church following the internment.

The family will greet friends during a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
